The reference library and local studies collections are on the first floor of the town library and offer a wide range of reference works, newspapers and magazines, including:
Local newspapers, from 1847 to the present day (held on microfilm)
Books and journals on ancient and modern topics
Local maps and plans
Census records (held on microfilm)
